Back home forever??

After being in the united states for two years with my husband who is an american citizen, I was told in order to apply for ajustment of status that I would have to return home and then being proceedings. Now I am home and literally banned from returning, where do I go from here. We have had some issues of finances but I would like to return and live my life with my husband. Was I given bad (on two occasions) advice or do I have a chance to return to the states?.

If you entered the USA legally, stayed past the expiration of your status for more than 180 days, you should not have left...

You probably are not banned forever... it would be 3/10 years...

Look at I-601 waiver.
