Change of status B1/B2 to R1

Greetings!
I am currently in US on my B1/B2 visa and would like to know if it is possible to change status to R1
without leaving the country. I have an employer and eligibility, but my lawyer says that it is better to leave the country and
to go to the embassy.

I would like to know if it is legally possible to stay I am still with valid i-94, and change status in US

Change of status B1/B2 to R1

Yes you can. Your religious organization employer/sponsor needs to apply and submit a petition for your R1 as soon as possible. Get legal advise I this matter.
