My good friend S is a minister on R1 Visa. Her visa expires on February 11, 2016, but the religion is trying to renew it, also with a change of address (CA to FL). We have two short questions:
1. Her lawyer will send the paperwork tomorrow to immigration department. US Immigration probably won't officially process it until after February 11 (after her current one expires). Can she stay in the US during this grey area?
2. How long can S stay in the US during the official Visa renewal process? Is there some sort of allowance or grace period for Visas that are "in process"? How does this work?
