Help needed

i live in Oman,muscat,and for study purposes want to come to the US,to my uncle. im new at this,and if it works,then i will b going to the US for the first time,but my main subject is,i don't know very well what to do to get a visa for the US. i was hoping that sum local person cud notify me on what to do. i read that u need to have a relative in the US,who needs to fill out an 'Affidavit of Support' form? i dont really understand,and was hoping if sum1 here cud help me.

You need to be accepted by a university first. you need a document issued by the university (i-20 for f1) for the visa application.

so it needs to be for a university or college? it isnt possible for O or A levels? right? if its possible,or if there any way,plz notify me.
