Is it possible for me to get an F-1 visa?

Hi everyone, I really need your help! I am from France and last year I was a foreign exchange student in the usa I had a J-1 visa (high school) and I fell in love with the american culture I am back in France and I want to go back next school year or in January to be able to graduate from high school in the US and then go to college there. But I don't know if I can get a F-1 visa because I had a J-1 not too long ago, I don't know if the "two years rule" applies for the F-1 status.
