F2 visa

Hi, I have applied for F1 visa in November 2012 but it got rejected. So Iam planning to apply for F2 visa as my husband is already in US on F1 visa. Will there be any problem in
getting my Visa for F2? Once I get F2 status can I change it to H1 ?

Unfortunately, the previous F1 denial will make it difficult for you to get F1. But, if you do manage to get it, you can change status to F1 once in the US.

F visas are Non-Immigrant visas so after trying once for F1 and then applying for F2, it is a clear intent of potential immigrant. But if you have strong reasons for VO's each and every question, you should be fine. Prepare logical answers for all the possible questions.
