  • Ques Reg.F2 Visa

    Dear Forum

I am having my F2 visa interview on next week. I would like to know what all the necessary documents I have to carry(from my end and from husband's end). I am currently working here, so am I supposed to take my pay slips along with my husband's pay slips. Actually during my stay my husband will be supporting me.
One of my main concern is, my husband's OPT is expiring on 5Feb and he has already requested for STEM OPT extension. But we have not got any confirmation for the same. So, does it has any impact for VISA refusal?

    Please advise.

    Awaiting your reply.

    Thanks
    Madhu

Unfortunately, there is always a risk in any F Visa application because of immigrant intent. Your husband being on OPT and OPT expiration makes it a little more risky than usual.
You should have proof of available funds (Bank statements etc.) as per your dependent I-20. A leave letter from your employer may also help. But most likely you will not be asked for any documents. A confident manner and truthful, convincing answers is the most important thing. Think about what you will do after he finishes his OPT, how you will spend time in the US since you are not allowed to work or study etc.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Hi Thanks alot for your reply.
What do u mean by strong tie ups with India.. I am showing some financial statement of my husband's earnings.
Other than that, how can we strongly tell that we will be back to India.. I m currently working..so once I get F2 visa, i will resign here and go there. So, I cannot show my job as strong tie up with India. Can you please suggest on this?

Family and property are the most common reasons.
