Studying in the US after getting married to a US citizen.
I am a US citizen and I am intending on marrying a Brazilian citizen in July 2014. She also wants to study in the US as soon as possible. I have two questions:
(1) If my girlfriend gets a student (F1) visa and begins studying in September 2013, it is possible for us to travel to Brazil for the wedding ceremony in July 2014 and then come back to the US for her to continue her second year of studying?
(2) If I marry my girlfriend in July 2014, will she be able to begin studying in the US in September 2014? Does she need a special permit or status to study after getting married?
In the end the goal is to study and get married. I know a fiance visa would help us get married and a student visa would help her to study, but what do we do if we want to do both?
