F-2 to F-1 conversion

Hi,

I am in the US on F-2. I have an admit for Summer term starting June 2013. I have my I-20 with me. I have also completed the I-539 form online, but haven't submitted yet. How long will the process take if I submit it online? What if my classes start and I haven't got my visa yet?

Any help is appreciated.
