Help needed for DS 160 application filling for f2 [wife and kid]

Hi ,
I am currently on F1 visa here in usa enrolled for masters [Spring-13]. Now I want to bring my family [wife and kid]. While preparing the DS-160, I encountered the below queries which I am not able to make out.

1. Do we need separate DS160 forms for wife and kid! [Kid age is 10 months]



Any help will be highly appreciated.

Each applicant must fill out separate DS-160. Your wife and your kid needs a separate DS-160.

Each applicant must fill out separate DS-160. Your wife and your kid needs a separate DS-160.

I do not have the experience for F2 DS-160 form. But when I filled a DS-160 form for my family (i.e. Wife & kid) for L1 visa at the end of the 1st DS-160 form for my wife I get an option "add family member" on which I click then a new DS-160 form for a kid show up & I started filing that this helps to get there visa interview together as forms are submitted together & they are linked together.

The new form for kid fills most of the places taking information from my wife from.

That means the same thing. It is just a matter of convenience of adding spouse/kids that the system provides at the end of principal DS-160. Eventually there will be two forms. By adding dependents at the end of the form you are just saving some of the time to re-enter some of the information. The system picks it from Principal DS-160. But ultimately there will be two CEAC cosed generated which means TWO DS-160 which are separate.
