  • Mother currently in the USA on visitor(B-1) visa, DS160

    Greetings,

I am an applicant for the F1 visa and I have a particular question regarding the "Is your mother in the US" field in the DS-160 form.

My mother is currently in the USA on a B-2 visa visiting my sibling who is on F-1 also. She won't be back yet at the time I intend to take my Visa Interview for F-1.
What do I fill in the "Is your mother in the US" field?

The information on DS-160 form on immihelp clearly states that I need to give the information that my relative is in the US if he/her is able to file an immigrant petition on behalf of me. But technically she cannot file any such petition. Do I write a NO?

    Thanks in advance,
    Varad.

B-2 actually, visitor or tourist visa, not B-1 or business visa.

    B-2!
