Hi,
I am posting this on behalf of my friend who got stuck in india. He is on F1 visa and took a semester break and went to india for 3 months on a travel i20 from his school. He was supposed to fly on friday 06/21/13 but was stopped at hyderabad airport. The officials told him he do not have immigration clearance and they cant let him fly. He is confused now as he do not know what to do. He called SEVIS and verified that no issue with his student status. He has visa stamping till 2017. He called US Dept of State and they said they dont handle this. Can some one please post your views and thoughts on this like whom to contact or did anyone face this situation? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Awaiting reply
