Hi All
I gave GRE a few months back and secured 330. But there is a different kind of a problem here.
My mom met with an accident 10 yrs back she needs a lot of help in her physical activities and I have been helping her all these years.I intend to continue doing that for the years to come as well. For the past few months my brother has been trying to secure a job in the US and things were going on really well on his front. So the plan was he would take my mom as a dependent on his visa and I would join my masters in a university at the same place as his job. That is when I planned to give gre and registered. But presently there are some problems in my brother's job offer and he will not be able to go abroad.
Is there any way in which I can take my mom along with me? I know a student visa permits only spouse/minor children as dependents. But are there any exceptions/special allowance which I can make use of? Or is tourist visa the only way that she can opt? Even in that case, I heard that it is very difficult to get a 5 yr or 10 yr multiple entry visa, the very first time itself.
I had always wanted to study abroad and get international exposure. But I don't want to desert her to pursue my goals. I so want to be able to realize my aspirations while being able to help her out. I will be very very obliged if any of you are able to suggest ways and means by which I can do that. Thanks a lot in advance!!
