Hello team,
My OPT is expiring in July 2013 and I have already filed for STEM extension but I have received and RFE for official degree copy or degree completion transcripts. But my degree is in continuation due to thesis research, and I do not have degree in my hand as of now. My University (DSO) told me that I am eligible for STEM extension and they have issued me a STEM I-20 which I used to file for extension along with other required documents.
But now my job, insurance, career, everything is on stake.
Please guide that if I am able to defend my thesis in next two weeks, what are the chances that USCIS will accept my official transcripts? I am afraid that they might reject the RFE that I did not complete the degree before OPT expiration.
Are there any chance that I can re-apply for STEM extension after degree completion?
The other thing is that if I lose my job then I am planning to withdraw my STEM extension application and continue my thesis, are there any good chances that I can enroll for Spring batch after thesis?
