I am studying on H4 visa and paying In-state tuition fee. I plan to maintain in-state status (via H4 visa) until end of Spring 2014 (mid-May) semester.
I have to visit India in February, 2014 and I wanted to check if the following was possible:
-Before leaving for India, I get an I-20 with start date May, 2014 from my school.
-In India, I get my stamping done (since it is within 120 days of I-20 start date).
-Re-enter USA on H4 visa in February, 2014
Questions:
1. Is it possible for me to re-enter US on H4 visa in February, 2014 ? And can 2 visas co-exist on my passport ?
2. If I apply for Change of Status after February, I would most likely not get approved for Summer, 2014. Is there any other way to maintain H4 for Spring and get F1 status in Summer.
Please advise.
