Hey everyone,
I'm in the usa on a student visa and recently got a letter from the Selective Service System confirming my registration and enrollment.
I never applied for it, however I applied for my driver's license recently and after searching on the net I figured that certain DMV forward the applicant info to the SSS.
I also figured that non-immigrants on student visas are not required to be registered. So I was wondering that even though I'm exempt, if I still keep myself registered will there be any legal issues later on?
Also on the SSS website they have mentioned that registering for the SSS makes people eligible for student financial aid and benefits. Is this true for student visas as well ?
Please advice me on this.
Thanks.
