I lost my passport during my masters last year and got a new one from NY. I also lost my I94 and US F1 visa stamp (valid till 2015). I filed an FIR but failed to report it to the consulate or obtain a new i94 as i kept wanting to go back and it didn't materialize. I am now on an F1 again for a phd program and wish to go back to get my visa stamp. I assume i will get my i94 when i fly back. Can someone guide me regarding the process step by step. I have copies of old passport new pasport, old visa and FIR filed. At the time I didn't know i had to report it back in India also. Will that pose a problem as it has been over a year?
