I came to the US on an H1B visa and worked in this country for 5 years. During my first year working, I met the love of my life who is a US citizen. We dated for a year and then moved in together at the end of the year. We now about 5 years in all. I got married to him on August 10, 2013 :-)
I have submitted my I-130, A-485, I-131 and I-765 to USCIS on October 25'th, 2013 with their NOA1 on October 30 and my biometrics is being scheduled for November 22'nd 2013.
Since September 2011 (quarter system)I have been in a graduate program and on F-1 visa/- D/S. I unfortunately was not able to finish the program on time (also my graduate funding is over - ran out of the scholarship money allocated to me) and so had to drop out of school starting September quarter of 2013. I am thus out of status since September 25'th 2013. The international programs coordinator emailed me stating that she will be informing the SEVIS about me not being enrolled in the program on October 20'th, 2013. I am however hoping to sign up for my minimum thesis credits and pay instate tuition during the summer quarter in 2014 and finish the Masters degree then (Not sure if this info is relevant to immigration). I have had no trouble with the law. I hate being out of status but I really can't afford out of state international tuition. Is this out of status situation going to be a problem for me? Anyone with a similar experience? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, David (loveandmarriage)
