  • can i successfully sponsor my girlfriends student visa?

She's on an au pair visa, it's about to expire. I want her to move in with me whilst attending school. If I sponsor her, would she likely be rejected because the gov would feel it was sponsorship based on our relationship and not her intent to study? what if my parents sponsor her? what if her host family sponsors her? what's my best route to go here?

Also, if she wins the green card lottery, but it doesn't take effect until 2014, is there any way to keep her in the country for 6-7 months while she waits for her green card to take effect?

For a student visa (conversion from her existing au pair status), it doesn't matter who sponsors her. You have to provide the school with proof of financial coverage of her school and living expenses, and the school provides the acceptance documents for USCIS.

So I can put $18,000 in her account for one day from a loan, print out her statement, take it to the school, get her approved for this school... does she have to complete a i-134 at any point? or do I have to complete that? Can I go to the school and say, look, i have $18,000 and i will be supporting her, will I then be required to do an i-134?

      edit:
      this is throwing me off:

why is it saying sponsor this sponsor that?... like it's required

Schools which have been accepting foreign students have their own procedures for the acceptance and USCIS-required documentation. Work with the school's requirements after getting a full review of their requirements. You will need a SEVIS I-120 issued by the school after they have verified your financial qualifications and accepted the student.
