H4 to F1 visa without H4 visa stamping in passport

Hi,

I live in USA in H4 visa which will expire in May 2014. My husband will be applying for extension by then but will be stamping only on our next trip to India ie; by Dec 2014.

Also I am planning to study here and hence want to convert from H4 to F1 in August 2014. Will there be any issue in getting F1 without H4 stamping. Are there any possible issues that can come up in my case.

No problem. You will receive a new I-94 once your H4 extension is approved. That will be sufficient proof of your legal status.

Also, when you leave the US after change of status, you will have to obtain F1 Visa in order to return in F1 status.

I have done like that.
I was on a H4 visa which was about to expire. We applied for an extension. After getting the extension I applied for my F1 visa and got it approved.
I know some of my friends who did the same.

It is just my experience not any legal advice...
