    Hello,
I have come to the US on an F1 visa 2 months back i.e. December 2013. I lost my passport here in the United States. I did apply for a new passport, but I have been told that for a visa, I'll have to go back to India and re-apply.
Do I have to fill my DS-160 again, because of my new passport number. Can I apply for the interview waiver program? What should I do?

    Please help me out.

Yes, you would have to apply for and attend new interview after filling DS-160 in order to get the visa again.

You do not qualify for interview waiver as one of the condition is :" My most recent visa (in the same class for which I am applying) was not lost or stolen."

This is my opinion not legal advice.
