F1 and J1 Visas Simultaneous process

Hello Friends,
Can we run both F1 and J1 Process simultaneously and choose one of them to attend the consulate. In case, I get the rejection for the first (either J1/F1) do I have chance to choose the later and attend the interview again.

Running F1 and J1 processes simultaenously

You have a better chance of success with J-1. Both processes can run simultaneously. However, rejection in one category requires truthful declaration of the event in the other DS160.
