Dear experts,
I am aksing a question in this forum to get your expert answers and that will guide me in proper planning.
I have been staying in US for 2.5 years (Two L1 - Issued in 2010 and 2013) and they are issued back to back (not after one year interval). So I have consumed 2.5 years of my total 6 years stay (5 L1 + 1 H1). I am planning to do a STEM MS degree in Summer 2015 and by that time my stay in US will be around 3.5 years.
My questions are -
1. After completion of the degree, I shall be able to stay total around 5 years (29 months in STEP OPT + 2.5 in H1), is that correct ?
2. After degree, best option will be if I can manage to apply for H1 after 29 month OPT is completed and that will give some time for the employers to file GC and get I 140 approved, is that correct ?
3. I am looking for 1 year or less full time courses. Some courses are 9 months full time technical. Are they eligible for OPT or only courses greater that 9 months are eligible for OPT ?
