Hi,
I had applied for MS in CS for Fall 2013 and had my F1 visa stamped as well. However, due to family issues, I couldn't travel at that time and I had deferred my admission to Fall 2014. Now I have my new I-20 from the university, but the SEVIS number is different from the one on my F1 visa. I checked with the International Student Services department of the school and they mentioned that I would not need to get a new visa, but still I have been getting conflicting information from different sources. Can anyone suggest if I will need to re-stamp my visa or I can travel on my current visa itself?
Since I have not entered the US, the 5 month rule would not be applicable to me I believe. Please advise.
