Need help with CPT extension
I'm a graduate student in the USA on an F1 visa. I'm currently working on a CPT granted by my university and need to apply for an extension of CPT before the end of this summer, for fall 2014. I'm in a difficult situation right now as my university will not extend my work permit for fall since the university's International student services (ISS) has a clause that the student's overall GPA and previous semester GPA should be both over 3.0 to be granted a CPT permit. My GPA fell below a 3 during the last semester and now the ISS isn't prepared to grant the permit. They told me that since the summer work approval was provided before my grades were out, they cannot revoke that and I can work only till end of summer but no etension will be given.
I really want to keep this internship as its my only source of income and would like to know if university's approval is required at all for CPT. What are my other options? Will USCIS verify this? How does the E-verify system work in this case ? Will I be in trouble if I do not submit the documents showing work authorization extension?
