OPT Extension and working with non E-Verify compnay
Hi,
I got my STEM OPT extension in Aug 2013 (17 months up to Dec 2014) via an employer who was E-verified.
Then last month i got a new job and i started working with the new company. Now, 2 week after joining i came to know they are not e-verified.
I know you need a job with E-verify when you applied for OPT Extension but is it mandatory to work with e-verify even when you are on extension?What are the repercussions if i continue to work with non e-verified employer?
My school official says that e-verified is required only at time of extension and you are ok to work with non e-verified as you already have extension.Is this right?? I am confused as in lot of forums it is written that u need e-verified employer on OPT stem extension.
