I have an OPT can i travel outside us

Hi,

I have an OPT (and the card) and i want to travel outside the us is it possible? If, do i need anything except my card and my pass port when traveling, do i need to get my I-20 signed?

i believe you cannot if the F1 visa stamped on your passport has expired.

Certain countries like Japan and EU countries has the F1 visa expired in 5 years but countries like Vietnam, China and others only has the visa valid for 1 years. If you have that type of visa, you can stay in America to study as long as you have a valid I 20. However, if you have an OPT and want to travel outside, the best way is to wait until the OPT ends and try to come back on another type of visa such as H1B
