RFE on OPT application and travelling to India

Facts:
1. My wife has stamped F-1 Visa from India.
2. graduated in December.
3. Applied for OPT.
4. We have to Take a flight to India tomorrow. ( had and employment offer and were planning to come back with EAD and OPT approval ). was travelling for 10 days or until EAD is received.
5. Just now saw online that she got an RFE yesterday evening. We still have not got it in mail so don't know what they are asking for.

Questions:
1. Would you recommend travelling in this situation?
2. Is it allowed to reply to RFE from India?
3. What are the common causes of getting RFE and usually what kind of supporting docs they are for ?
