Hi All. Shortly, my story is the following.
I came to US in 2009 under J-1 with 2-year HRR. In 2011, after completion of my masters I went home and got F-1 for PhD program. During my PhD years I went home several times but I did not spend enough to fulfill 2-year HRR. I understand that if I go home, I won't be able to get a H1B visa without a waiver (btw, getting a waiver is not an option). On the other hand, if I don't go home and get a job in US, a company will try to change my status from F1 to H1. My question is: whether this transition can be done if I have an unfulfilled 2-year HRR??? Will HRR stand on the way?
