Hey, my priority date for (F3) is Aug 2006 , and according to the current progression , it may take about 2-3 years for it to become current, I wish to settle in the US ,I'm currently in 11th grade, after 2 years I will have passed out 12th.. so , should I apply for a F-1 visa, start my studies in a college ( if I manage to get the visa ) and then when the date becomes current ,switch status? or should I wait for the priority date to become active and then go to the US and start my studies? In the latter option , I waste about 1-2 years and there is no logic in starting college in my country and then leaving halfway and then starting the process all over again in the US ..
Are there any chances of getting a student visa while an IV is pending? because Student visas are strictly NIV , has anyone you know with this situation managed to get a F-1 visa ?
PS- I currently have a B-2 visa , and the CO at the interview asked me whether I have an IV pending , I said yes and the date too.. thus , will USCIS knowing that I have an immigrant intent in the near future grant me a student visa?
