Can I Travel earlier then 30 days period.

Hii Team,

I just got my F1 visa today, however i already had an B1 visa which is not striked out by the visa counselor.

My question is it is possible for me to go to US prior to 1 month period specified by for F1 visa as i still have the B1 visa with me, and later get my status changed to F1 when my collage starts from US itself ?

Generally, no. There are specific situations where you this may work. For example, if you had a bona fide reason to visit on a B-1 (attending a conference or something), then take a quick trip to the Mexican or Canadian border and re-enter on your F-1.
