  • F1 COS and Stamping

    Hello,

I am getting admission in master's course on Aug-2015. I am currently in H4 and about to apply F1 COS. My questions are -->

    1. If COS to F1 gets approved, is it required to get it stamped? or i can complete my course in F1 COS.
    2. What if i don't travel outside of US for the duration of my course. Will i be eligible for CPT/OPT on F1 COS?
    3. If COS gets rejected, does it affect to my H4 visa? can i continue my studies in H4?
    4. If i travel outside of US(say india), and F1 Stamping gets rejected. Will that affect my current H4? will i need to re-apply H4?

    Thanks for your help.

1 - If COS is approved - No need to go for stamping.
    2. U will be eligible for CPT/OPT once COS is approved to F1.
    3. It doesn't affect your H4 visa as long as it is valid as of that day and u can continue your studies (as long as your H4 is valid).
    4. If you travel outside of US & f1 is rejected, Your H4 will be still valid till its expiry date.
