Hi everyone,
I'm currently on a F-1 visa as a PhD student. My visa expired a few years ago. I currently have one I-130 petition submitted by my mother to sponsor me, but my priority date is not current yet. Next year, there will be an international conference that I wish to attend, but I'm worried that after leaving the U.S., it won't be easy to obtain an F-1 visa again, given the I-130 petition.
Is there any sort of waiver that can apply for my situation? Do you know if the I-130 truly will affect my chance of getting the F-1 visa? The conference is pretty big, but obviously I don't want to risk not being able to come back and finish my program. Many thanks for your input!
