H4 to F1: COS in US or Get F1 Stamped from Home country
Hello,
I am on H4 Visa status currently living in US. I have got admission in University and started studying there. I want to change my status to F1 Visa status so I can go for some practical training. I have below questions:
1. Going to Home Country (India) and get F1 stamped, I believe this is better idea as it will take less time(mostly a month) and I will have F1 visa status with me. But I am really not sure about the chances of getting RFEs or rejections, please share your views.(Collage accreditation is average) I am not sure if I have to get permission from the collage to leave the US and go to India.
2. Request for Change of status from H4 to F1 staying in US, I believe it will take atleast 3 months to get the status approved.
What you think, what is the better approach according to you?. Please share your views.
