Hi everyone,
I am wondering about the 90 day rule of unemployment while on F-1 OPT. USCIS received my I-765 application on May 28, and my start date of my EAD was chosen as July 5, as stated on the I-20, and based on the recommendation of my DSO. I haven't received any updates from USCIS confirming my EAD, with the latest being that my name was updated (although I never asked for one...). I know that the 90 days of unemployment started accruing on July 5. Does USCIS let the 90 day unemployment rule start when the EAD is actually confirmed and/or sent? I don't see how this is very fair, as I've read online that some applications have taken LONGER than 3 months...
On a sidenote, how difficult is it to get a job on F-1 OPT? I'm starting to get worried that employers will unfairly judge me and see my status as a hassle. I'm an accounting graduate with my Bachelor's, and am willing to take anything, even a very low-paying internship.
