  • help!!!!!!!!! : working as a nurse with F2 visa

    Hi,
my husband has got admission for PhD in USA. He has got his F1 visa. I am going to go with him as his dependent and I will have to visa F2.
As i know, F2-visa holders (student Spouse) are not allowed to work in the USA since, the U.S. has an interest in making sure that U.S. workers find jobs and the F2-visa holders could take a job away from a U.S. worker.
Besides, we know that there is currently a shortage in the United States of nurses to the extent that the labor certification process has been waived for professional nurses.
I am a nurse with Master Science degrees. So is it possible for me to work as a nurse with F2 visa in USA?
If it is possible, how hard is the process?
    Thanks in advance

No, you will have to get other work authorization such as H1B in order to work.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Thanks for your response. Would you please elaborate more, how can I receive such an authorization?
According to nursing shortage in US, being a nurse is a positive point in receiving that authorization?
