Major

Hello,

I have a visa appointment soon and I am not sure what to tell the interviewer about my major.
On the the I-20 document it says that I will be doing general engineering which is true. When I had applied to the university I am going to, I applied as Industrial engineering major but since it is a competitive major I was accepted with pre-engineering status. I know that it is highly likely that i will be asked about majors and career paths, so do I tell them I will be exploring my options at college or should I stick to one major?
