E-2 to F-1 Visa
Hello,
I have applied for an F-1 visa on July 2nd. My problem is that my E-2 visa has expired, since my dad quit his job here in the U.S and has to go back to Europe. I called USCIS to check on the status of my new visa, they told me that they are way behind on processing all the application. I got told that they are now working on the applications from October last year. How is that even possible!!!! I can stay in the U.S until 2017 because that's when my I-94 expires but I want to travel to Europe this Christmas to visit my parents, that's not going to happen without my visa. Has anyone experienced such a delay before and knows how to handle this. I've heard that it can take up to 3-4 months but not almost a year!!!
I would appreciate a response because I don't really know what to do right now.
