Hello,
Thanks to my lawyer i am in alot of mess regarding my current status. For a reason even he does not know now, he advised me to wait for filling my OPT extension as my H1B was selected in lottery and was pending. Now a couple of days back my H1B application was unexpectedly declined and i think i am out of status. My Opt expired on 9th July and the earliest i can apply for an extension is tomorrow i.e more then 2 months late. Could anyone help/advice me about
-What are my options now? I will talk to my school tomorrow to send in an application asap but the chances of approval seems bleak. My lawyer is apologetic and is willing to send an apology/additional docs with the opt extension application. My company will also appeal my H1B case.
-If i send the application for opt extension will i be able to work till a decision comes?
-Any other suggestion would be really appreciated. What can be my backup plan?
