My boyfriend was under CPT for the summer and got his internship extended but his offer letter came very late, a few weeks after the summer CPT ended. However, he continued working and was on payroll until his CPT approved. He just found out that this could be a violation of his student visa and is freaking out. Does anyone know of the consequences and / or remedies? It was only for a few weeks, would this still be an issue? He also just filed for his EB-5 green card. Could he pay back whatever he earned during that period?
