I am a current international student who was supposed to graduate in December 2015. But because of gpa< 3.0 I couldn't graduate and had to take an extra course to raise my gpa. I will graduate in May 16 now. Now i have applied for re-instatement to F1 student status as I couldn't extend my I20 before my grades came. My only worry is that if my reinstatement comes after the 60 days of my graduation in May i will lose out on OPT. I haven't violated any F1 visa rules or stayed out of status for more than 5 months.
So can you please tell me how to expedite the process of reinstatement and usually how much time it takes and if there is anything that i can do to stay in this country and work. I already have a job offer which i will be able to join from May- June 2016 if my reinstatement comes till then and apply for OPT. Has anyone faced a similar situation?
