F2 Dependent Visa :

I am applying for F1 visa. I am a single father (Separated but not legally divorced) with a three and a half year old son. I would like to know how can I apply for the visa for me in F1 and my son as a dependent in F2 ?

Would it be better to apply together or separately ?

If you can show the financial documents that match your living expenses and fee. It should be okay
