Hi
I am a student pursuing my masters in US.
My school has a two semester system and the tuition fees mentioned in my i-20 is approx. $15.5k for 9 months out of 12, i.e. for 2 semesters.
Our school requires me to complete 36 credits to graduate, i.e. 18 credits for 2 semesters.
The tuition fees per credit is $15.5k/18 = $860 approx
However, they are charging me around $1000 dollars per credit.
I took took 11 and 12 credits in my last 2 semesters and plan to take 13 my next one and graduate in 3 semesters.
However the fees being levied on me by the school is as follows
1st sem - 11 credits - $11.5k
2nd sem - 12 credits - $12k
3rd sem - 13 credits - $13k
As the student loan is given according to numbers in my i-20, my bank is only releasing $31k worth of funds to me.
Can my college charge more than the tuition fees present in my I-20?
Please advice.
