I am starting my masters in June and I will be receiving my I20 this week. I plan to convert my visa from H4 to F1. Considering the paucity of time, my only option is to go to India and get the stamping done. My queries are
1) Is it very risky to go to India and get my visa converted? Is going to Canada recommended?
2) If my F1 visa gets rejected in India, does my H4 visa still apply?Or do i have to again apply for a H4 Visa? Similarly, what happens if my visa gets rejected in Canada?
3)Considering the less time i have can i opt for an emergency F1 visa scheduling in my case?
4) Are there conditions on the duration a person needs to hold H4 to convert into F1?
Any help to the above queries will be much much appreciated and shall be treated with chocolates
