Emergency!! L-2 to F-1
Hi,
U guys can call me Kevin. I currently live in Raleigh, NC.
And I m a college student in NCSU.
I m here looking for some help on my visa status.
I came to the US with a J-1 visa, then my parents were here for business and change my status to L-2
But the business didn't go well, so they decide going back to China.
Now the problem raise, how am I gonna get a F-1 visa when I have already submitted the i 485?
What's the chance that I can successfully get the F1 and how long does it take?
Our i 485 has been extend reviewed for 2 years since 2014. I m really stress out and need some help now.
I called USCIS today and they said as long as i-485 is pending, I can still file for EAC and stay in the US without a visa. But we submitted i-40 and i-485 at the same time, if the i-40 expired, then i-485 will be denied too.
Then How can I stay in the US or reentry the US before Aug?
Need some real help.
