I have been issued F1 visa and have received my passport.
I am planning to travel to the USA in August, 2016.
However my Visa has come with an "FNU" in Given Names field.
In passport:
Given Name: Kaushik Ramana Krishnan
Surname:
In US Visa:
Given Name : FNU
Surname: Kaushik Ramana Krishnan
I have heard that having FNU in my Visa may lead to issues once I arrive in the USA, especially in obtaining a DMV license or SSN.
Hence, I have decided to apply for a name split on my passport in India itself before i book my air tickets and travel.
I will be issued a new passport with the following:
Given Name: Kaushik Ramana
Surname: Krishnan
In that case I will be having 2 passports, 1 with the US Visa (The passport would be cancelled) and another with the corrected name.
I would like to know whether I will face any issues travelling to the USA in immigration or anywhere else, if I travel with 2 passports as mentioned above.
