Is it safe to travel on or after last day of OPT ?
I'm on F1, Valid VISA, and my first OPT expires on Dec'15, No plans to apply for STEM extention yet since I have a H4 EAD option.
I'm planning to travel to India in Dec, and apply for H4 in India and come back as H4 based on my spouse's H1. I have a couple of questions here
Is it safe or ok to travel after my OPT expires, i.e little after Dec'15th ?
Is there any benefit if I make travel date to be Dec'15th?
Once I leave the country without renewing my OPT, do I still have to apply for F1-H4 change of status or do I just apply for a new H4 Visa ?
My goal is to speed up F1-H4 conversion by attending a consular interview and have a valid status to come back; after my H4 approval I plan to apply for H4 EAD online from India. How does my plan look, any suggestions ?
