Hi All,
I had a change of Status (CoS) from H4 to F1 in March 2016.
Due to a burglary at home, I lost my I-797 A Notice of Action. However, I have a scanned copy of that.
I am planning to travel to India by September/ October 2016 and I am planning to get the stamping done when Ii go there this time.
1. Can I use the scanned copy to furnish along with the document? Will it be considered a legitimate document in the counselling back home?
2. This is an approval notice. It was suggested by someone that I apply using I-824 form : 'Application for action on an approved application or petition'. However, that costs $405 and a wait period of 3-6 months.
Do you have any recommendations?
Any suggestions in this regards is welcome.
