I need your possible help and suggestions. I attended my visa interview on the 1st of November and was approved and I have already gotten my passport with a valid F-1 Visa Stamp. After the interview, I emailed the DSO to inform about my approval which I believe I did the right thing but the reply email I received was to inform me that Form I-20 had since been cancelled the previous week. Which means, it was cancelled even before I attended the interview without my knowledge. When I asked what the reason was, I was told that the Admission Acceptance Deposit that I paid had been recalled by my bank. I reached out to my bank and was informed that it was actually recalled since I made the transaction outside of my country of which is strange as I don't make purchases online and it was a way to protect me from fraudulent charges to my account which I understood.
I have since been in talks with various hierarchies of the school to explain and for them to let me send in another deposit but they said they can't re-issue nor re-instead my I-20 and I would no longer be studying at the University. I am very confused on what to do. Can I still travel with the same I-20 and on the visa? What are the chances that I can be admitted at the Port of Entry (POE) so I can file for reinstatement while in the country? Do I need to obtain a new I-20 from another college and travel with it on the visa stamp from the former school? Or do I need to seek for a new admission in another university, obtain a new I-20 and re-apply for a new visa? I am very confused you. Please help me with the possible suggestion since I still do have about 2 months to travel which I think gives me an edge to be able able to figure out what to do.
