Hello!
My name is Léa, I am a French exchange student this year in Virginia.
I came in the US with my best friend, we are currently attending a public school.
We are doing the IB Diploma, which is a program that lasts 2 years. We want to stay next year to complete our program, as well as go to college after graduation.
However, we found out that there is a law preventing us from staying more than 12 months in a public school.
Do you know if there is any way to still be able to stay in the US next year?
We know that we would have the option of going to a private school, however it is very expensive and our parents would not be able to support the tuition.
If we went to another public school, in another state, would it work?
Also, my best friend's parents are immigrating to the US, he will thus have a green card next year. Do you know if with a green card he would be allowed to attend a school in Virgia if his parents are living in Las Vegas?
Thank you so much for your help !!
